Davos 2024
The UAE concluded its successful participation in the 54th session of the 2024 World Economic Forum meetings, which were held in Davos, Switzerland, from January 15 to 19, and were marked by the presence of a large number of government officials and heads of companies and the private sector.
Through its participation in the forum, the UAE confirmed its distinguished international presence, as it actively participated in many sessions and events, presented ideas and insights into various global issues, and strengthened its cooperation with various international bodies in order to achieve sustainable development goals.
The state’s participation agenda in the event included sessions in various fields, the most prominent of which are:
Economy, foreign trade, investment and environment: The UAE participated in sessions on the BRICS grouping, its growth prospects, its impact on the global economic reality, and the geopolitical and economic landscape. She also participated in sessions on the impact of technology on the development of global trade and investment, and the future of global trade and foreign direct investment in light of benefiting from its enormous potential.
During the forum, the UAE also launched a number of qualitative initiatives, the most prominent of which are:
Knowledge exchange program in the artificial intelligence sector: The UAE announced the launch of a knowledge exchange program in the artificial intelligence sector, in cooperation with the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Rwanda. The program aims to enhance cooperation between leaders, innovators and experts in the fields of artificial intelligence around the world, to utilize its promising potential in stimulating the process of global progress.
EcoMark Initiative: The UAE announced the launch of the EcoMark Initiative, the first sustainability certification framework dedicated to small and medium enterprises around the world. The framework aims to help small and medium enterprises achieve EcoMark status by providing an integrated set of resources.
During its participation in the forum, the UAE confirmed that it is an active global partner in various fields, and is committed to enhancing international cooperation and joint work to achieve sustainable development goals.
